Seaclops 2016!

Happy New Year!

You might say it's a resolution of mine to use this blog more. Although most resolutions fall through sometime early February, so I'm just going to call this a goal in 2016 to blog more.

Big things are in the works this year for Seaclops and my own art career. more convention dates keep getting added so if I'm at one near you, please stop by and see me!

Because of these increased Con weekends, it's getting harder and harder to post new comics on Sundays like I have been doing. Because of this, New comics will be posted early in the week like Monday or Tuesday. This allows me some more time to get the site ready for the weeks new Chapter. I will make sure, as always, to let everyone know on Twitter and all the other social media outlets when a new Chapter is up.

I really want to hear from you guys! Please don't hesitate to Tweet me or Email me @ Seaclopscomics@gmail.com. Ask me anything!

Hope everyone is doing awesome! Until next time.

Con Nooga!

Okay so the RSS feed thing did not work, clearly. It is going to take a lot of work and backtracking to manage that. there may be some other options. I'm looking into it but...

Con Nooga is this coming Saturday! I am the featured artist at this 2015 Con Nooga in Chattanooga Tennessee and I would love to meet as many of ya'll as possible. I will have some really awesome stuff at my booth so don't miss out! Hope to see everyone there!

Chapter 40 and new RSS feed!!!

Seaclops "Guilty" part 6.

Wow this is a change! Nope you didn't miss a week. Seaclops has found himself in a very difficult situation. Is Seaclops Guilty? Well the story title would have you believe so! Keep reading and maybe you will find out! (or maybe not, that would be mean, right?)

As always let me know what your thinking! Don't forget to follow me on Instagram and Twitter and I'm also on Facebook and deviant art.

All the Best!

Happy New Year!

Hey everybody! Sorry I haven't been keeping up with this blog as well as I have wanted to but just been so busy. I'm sure every one understands with the holidays and all that jazz. I'm just glad I have been able to continue to get a new Seaclops page out every week since launch of the site. This newest story arc is one I am most proud of. I feel like I have a good handle on most of the tools and my style of coloring. I never set out for this to be a color comic. I was fine with it just being black and white but when I was looking around I thought "How can I take this to the next level?" and many horribly colored pages later (Some sadly made it to the website, but at least I can look back and see how far I have come.) I am fairly happy with the final product. There is still so much more I would like to do. I think soon I will be going with a 11x17 page size to work from. I feel like my work is getting a little cramped at the moment. Being a weekly comic page I want to fit as much content and story into each page as I can. I want you to leave feeling like you got something from the comic each week. Thus doing so I am trying to fit 6-7 panels per page. I am no George Perez. He is the master of many panels and them all working. I sadly cannot. So I feel most comfortable with 4-5 nice clean panels with plenty of space to work. So I think expanding the page size will help. If my work is ever collected they will hate me when they try and figure out a size for the book. Nevertheless I am having a blast with this comic and getting ready for Con Nooga. If you are in the Chattanooga Tennessee area please come by and say hey to me Feb 27, 28 and March 1st.

Also for Christmas I got a Funko Pop Vegeta. I love him and he is sitting next to me at the moment. So far the only Pops I have are all of the Assassins from Assassins creed and Vegeta but I can't wait from the pop Cthulhu.

Right now I am reading World's Finest vol. 3 by Paul Levitz, Robson Rocha, Emanuela Lupacchino (and one of my favorites) R. B. Silva. If you haven't read it, I recommend trying it out. It's a lot of fun and the dialogue is really light and funny but with plenty of action.

If I don't talk to you until then, have a happy and safe new year!

young Adult(ish)

I just started reading Ms. Marvel by G. Willow. Wilson and Adrian Alphona. What I really love about it is how bright and fun it is. The main character really acts and sounds like a young teenager. Just her describing what it's like to wear a costume and it's not as great as she thought it would be is really entertaining. It reminds me of reading a really good young adult novel. I would love to see a lot more books in this tone. Which I feel like Nova has this feel also pretty well. A lot like the older DC Young Justice book with Todd Nauck. These feel like young adults, they aren't super gritty. Not to say they don't have moments of fear or anger but I think the best of these type of books always come back to the characters brighter outlook and ability to joke and mess up. Ultimate Spider-Man by Bendis is also great at this. I really hope the Comic community of creators and readers go a little more in this direction, The new Batgirl starting in issue 35 with Cameron Stewart and Babs Tarr and Gothom Academy by Becky Cloonan (Who I love) and Karl Kerschl also are doing an awesome job at giving us fun comics to read. Anyways now I am just rambling and I don't reread these blogs so It sounds like a mess I'm sure.

If you haven't yet please listen to Comics Coast to Coast episode 218 with me. It was so much fun and an honor to get to speak with some of the top names in webcomics. And please keep telling your friends and everyone about Seaclops. I had a great conversation with a fan via email so if you want to talk or ask questions just send me an Email at Seaclopscomics@gmail.com or twitter @Andy_Duggan. I would love to hear from ya'll.

May the Force be with you

Always

I did one of the most exciting things ever this week. I was privileged to be the featured creator on the fantastic podcast Comics Coast to Coast from the Frogpants network who provide some other amazing shows like The Instance, The Morning Stream and Film sack just to name a few. It was a blast talking with Brian, Matt and Joel about Seaclops, the future of the comic and my feelings about the side characters. Also we talked about comics in general and movies, video games and much more. So if you want to learn more about me or Seaclops straight from the horses mouth, Then please listen to Comics Coast to Coast episode 218. It should be up Monday, October 27th. You can get the Podcast from iTunes or whatever your favorite Podcast app is. Also you can listen to the episode when it goes up on their website at Comicscoasttocoast.com or Frogpants.com. Getting Close to the big 3 Oh!....almost

So this week is the release of Seaclops Chapter 28. I never thought I would get past like 4 pages. When I was younger and drawing comics in my sketchbook I would have these grand ideas. I would write the next huge series in my wal-mart sketch book and somehow people were going to see it. But by page 2 or 3 I was done and I would draw Aquaman on the next page thus ending the next great Graphic novel of the time with only 2 pages. Now Working on Seaclops I find I don't have that problem. Seaclops is a very versatile character and lends himself to the kind of stories I enjoy. I don't know If I finally found an idea that worked or just maturity kicked in but Im glad Im almost at 30 and my brain is pouring out with story ideas and characters. So I guess 30 isn't a huge landmark when I have so many more stories to tell.

Working my fingers to the (Cold) Bone.

Hiya!

So Im working really hard to get ahead of the game. I am going to Disney world soon and I want to make sure I have the comic that week done way ahead of time! But that's a long car ride so I am planning on writing one of the biggest stories in Seaclops comics. It is a story I have been tossing around in my head from the very beginning. It will have a whole new cast (besides Seaclops) and really amp up the action, Thats all I will say for now!

So Halloween is coming up soon! If anyone wants to make a Seaclops costume I will send you some original art. Like art that has been inked and is from the actual series! Just email me a pic or post it to twitter and tag me in it! Hope I see some!

Also Just read Scott Snyder's Wytches. Super good! I love the tone of this book, very creepy and Jock's art is as always amazing! Go pick it up at your LCS!

Until next time!

Thank you so much for all the support! And thanks to Tyler for keeping the website running and helping this whole thing be possible. The Story of Seaclops is just getting started! Don't miss a single Chapter! As always, Updates every Sunday!
